Dr Laura Sweeney (MB, BCh, BAO, MRCS, FFR RCSI) is a Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in Breast Imaging. She studied medicine at University College Dublin and graduated in 2011. Dr Sweeney gained experience in Breast Surgery and Radiation Oncology during her postgraduate training. She completed Radiology training at St James Hospital and underwent specialist fellowship training in Breast Imaging at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and Breast Check. Dr Sweeney has been awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) and Fellow of the Faculty of Radiologists of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FFR RCSI).
Dr Sweeney has particular interest in Breast MRI, stereotactic/tomographic biopsy, pre-operative localisation and vacuum assisted excision.
